My inspiration

I’ve spent so many hours wandering through forests and mountains, always hoping to spot a cougar (from a safe distance), but I never have. Still, I often feel their quiet presence, watching unseen from the trees.

When I painted Flower Cougar, I was thinking about that invisible connection we share with the wild. Cougars are masters of camouflage, powerful and graceful, yet rarely seen. I imagined one hidden among the flowers, blending perfectly into the beauty around it.

The flowers in this piece are both a disguise and a symbol. They represent the balance between softness and strength, the delicate and the fierce, just like nature itself.

This painting is my thank-you to the mystery, to the wild eyes I might never meet, and to all the unseen magic that surrounds us every day.
