Owls have always held a strange kind of magic for me.
They don’t just appear, they arrive, almost like messengers, showing up in the exact moment I need them. So when I finally decided to paint an owl, I wanted the piece to feel symbolic, powerful, and full of that quiet mystery they seem to carry. The stained-glass style background became the perfect way to express that, like fragments of meaning, light, and intuition all coming together.

One of my most memorable encounters happened right before a weekend trip to Mount Cain. I was out walking my dog when an owl flew directly across our path. And without thinking, I just knew, somehow, that something important was going to happen that weekend. It felt like a sign.

And it was.

That trip, I was invited to stay an extra day and try splitboarding for the very first time, something I had just started being obsessed with. A friend had an extra board to loan me, and when I flipped it over to set it up that morning, the design on the bottom made my heart stop.

It was an owl.
