This Christmas card design just makes me smile and I hope it brings you the same joy. It has a pretty sweet story too, here it goes:

Story Behind the Art
This little painting began with a video that instantly melted me: a tiny rescued otter cared for by MARS Wildlife Centre here on Vancouver Island. In the clip, an adorable otter, full of life just doing its thing… I fell in love with it!
I couldn’t stop thinking about that little creature. There was something so pure in the way it moved, curious and trusting, despite whatever hardship brought it into care. To me, it felt like a small Christmas miracle: a life given a second chance, wrapped in kindness.
So I painted this piece inspired by that feeling.
A festive otter surrounded by Christmas colors and patterns, radiating the same joy and safety I imagined it must have felt. I wanted it to look happy.
For me, this piece is another wildlife love story. A reminder that even the smallest beings have a way of touching our hearts, and that sometimes the truest magic of the season comes from the wild creatures who never speak, yet somehow say everything.
